So the final film poster for the highly anticipated
Star Wars: The Force Awakens was
released today, and the Internet basically exploded (Sorry Alderaan).
Pretty sweet right?
Characters both old and new appear, along with some familiar aircrafts
(That’s right, we’re looking at you, Millennium Falcon)
To the right of her, our other protagonist, Finn, played by
John Boyega, appears to be holding a lightsaber that once belonged to Luke and
Anakin Skywalker. Pretty telling, right? Especially considering that we already
know that he served as a stormtrooper for the First Order, but for some reason
left.
The masked Kylo Ren takes up a large majority of the left
side of the poster, wielding his notorious custom lightsaber that quite frankly
leaves us all feeling worried he’ll lose a hand. This is Star Wars, after all.
Classic fan favourites like Han Solo, C3PO and R2D2 also
appear, along with our first look at Princess Leia in this film, unfortunately
not sporting her classic ‘space buns’.
If something feels like it’s lacking from this poster, then
you’d be right for thinking so.
Luke Skywalker is nowhere to be seen, at least as far as we
know, though it has been rumoured that he’s in hiding, after Mark Hamill filmed
scenes in the secluded island of Skellig Michael, off the coast of Ireland.
But wait, what’s that? In the top right corner?
Wait. Is that what it looks like?
ANOTHER DEATH STAR?!
We can’t know for sure until the film is released, but we’re
betting that Death Star 3.0 is a go.
It seems to be going down well on Twitter...
Are we just going to pretend that Death Star isn't there. pic.twitter.com/KVbNxRoM8p

He does have a point...
"Hey what's that giant space ball we keep building that always fails?"
"Death Star?"
"Wanna build it again?"
"OK" pic.twitter.com/cDkenrj6Jw

But at the end of the day, we all basically reacted the same:
